A new wave of efficiency is hitting HVAC installation sites, and it comes in the form of a grey or black roll of cross-linked polyethylene foam. The XPE Closed-Cell Thermal Insulation Foam, now available with an integrated self-adhesive backing, is helping contractors reduce labor hours while improving the thermal performance of air conditioning ductwork and industrial pipelines.

Unlike traditional insulation materials that require separate adhesives or mechanical fastening, this foam arrives ready to wrap. The combination of aluminum PET foil facing and a peel-and-stick backing allows for rapid application on both rectangular and round ducts—a feature increasingly valued in large-scale commercial projects where time is money.

Technical data shows the foam achieves a density of 28–35 kg/m³ and a Shore hardness of 18–25°, striking a balance between structural integrity and flexibility. Its closed-cell structure resists moisture ingress, preventing the condensation issues that often plague poorly insulated refrigeration lines and AC panels.

The material also meets fire-retardant standards, with its compound formulation halting flame progression within 60 seconds of exposure. This makes it suitable not only for office towers and hotels but also for sensitive environments like hospitals and schools, where safety regulations are particularly stringent.

Available in thickness options of 12mm, 13mm, 15mm, 19mm, 25mm, and 30mm, and in widths of 1000–1200mm, the product comes in rolls of 15–25 meters or sheets of 1.2 meters. Custom packaging is available upon request.
